Great turn out for the club's annual Burns Supper held at Orsett Hall last thursday evening

105 people this year enjoyed a fabulous evening's entertainment to commemorate the Scottish Bard, Robbie Burns.

ImageThis years Burns gathering, held at The Orsett Hall, on the 24th January was Scottish Castle themed and Rotarian Bob Paterson got the evening of to a flying start with his 'Address to the Haggis' (pictured left), which was summarily despatched and eaten as is the tradition.

After a wonderful four course Scottish dinner the guests were entertained with the now familiar speeches, given this year by Rtn Iain Ramsay (The Immortal Memory), President Raj Mohile (the Toast to the Lasses) and the club's special guest former councillor and chair SE Essex PCT, Val Liddiard who replied on behalf of the Lasses.

The guests were then invited onto the dance floor where they experienced various reels, jigs and flings to the music of 'Scotch on the Rocks' until the final Auld Lang Syne brought the evening to a heart warming end and the guests were discharged back out into the cold night fuelled with haggis and whisky having enjoyed a great evening of fun and fellowship at the hands of Grays Thurrock Rotary Club (Tartan Branch)
