The 3rd Rotary Christmas Concert at the Civic Hall last night was a huge sell out success.

Last night those people in Grays who braved the cold and the rain (and the potholes) were rewarded with a truly fantastic evening at the Civic Hall. In the presence of the Mayor, Mr Yash Gupta, and local MP Jackie Doyle Price, the sell out audience were treated to a marvellous evening of local acts both new and old, some famous, some soon to be famous.

The Aveley and Newham Band (with guest conductor Andrew Austin) as always set the right tone from the very start and they were complimented with spots from the young but enormously talented Bayleigh Mason, TheThree Guys, The Mosaic Choir conducted as always by the inimitable Darryl Barber and this years special guest Stacey Solomon who chose to sing Chris Rea's Driving Home For Christmas. Undoubtedly the stars of the show this were the children from Little Thurrock Primary School Choir who stole the show in both halves and provided the magical element to the evening.

The organiser in Grays Thurrock Rotary would like to thank all those performers who gave their time for free and provided such a magical evening and those people who helped on the night and most of all to those people who paid their monies and came and enjoyed a really good evening. Your money will help so many people in so many ways.

It is hoped that the evening will raise around £5000 for Rotary causes

Pictures will follow...the world's press were there.

One Thought to take away with you..........I bet you will never hear 'Walking in the Air' again without thinking of two small children 8 and 6 playing the music!
