On Thursday last in the heady and professional atmosphere of the Thurrock Council chambers eight teams fielded by two Grays schools, William Edwards and The Convent School went head to head in the first round of the nationwide Rotary Youth Speaks Competition. The 24 young students across two age categories, intermediate (13-14) and senior (15-18), battled it out in front of an invited audience of parents, rotarians and looked on by representatives from the district heats.

The winners of both categories are seen in the photos. Well done to all who participated and the competition will roll on to the District Finals in the new year so Good Luck to our valiant winners.
