In support of World Polio Day on 24th October 202 the club held its annual Quiz Night at Thurrock Rugby Football Club on Friday 3rd October 2025, with over 70 people in nine teams attending.
The evening started with a Heads and Tails competition won by Jackie Roast and then the quiz started, with a varied list of topics to please all contestants. At the mid-point we settled down to a Ploughman’s meal and then it was off into the quiz again. At the end of the evening the raffle was held with lots of prizes and the winning team was announced.
We managed to raise over £1,000 for the Rotary Foundation's Polio Eradication Fund and had lots of fun in the process. Thanks go to our organisers, Bob Paterson, John Smith and Peter Hoche and of course to the Thurrock Rugby Football Club and its staff for use of their premises, bar and a heavily discounted meal.
