On March 11th we held this year’s Technology Competition. 9 schools entered representing 5 schools in the borough. On the day we had 8 teams. Hathaway x 1, Mossbourne Fobbing x 2, St Cleres x 3, Thames Park x 2 and Harris CH (sadly were unable to make it on the day)
It was an excellent day with all eight teams really engaged in the challenge to design and construct a moon buggy which can be used for NASA’s Artemis launch in April 2026. The winning team on the day were the students from Thames Park.
A big shout out to Simon from the South Essex College who provided a much-needed helping hand throughout the day along with his soldering irons.
Thankyou also to Eddy smith from the Amateur Radio Club for bringing along his equipment to demonstrate some of the work the club does.
A number of Club members helped out on the day including Nick, Corin, Pam and Derrick. I would like to take this opportunity of thanking them for their help and support on the day.
Finally, a big thank you to Russ Culver from the Port of Tilbury for letting us use the fabulous cruise terminal free of charge.
