The Gateway Academy hosted the Rotary Young Musician Competition local heat and what a turn out we got. 
The overall winner was judged to be clarinettist Sean Corrigan who performed Malcolm Arnold's Clarinet Sonatina.
Sean will go on to compete at the District Finals at Chelmsford Cathedral and hopefully will play at The Rotary Christmas Concert next year also.

The competition spread over Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced depending on their achieved musical grades were further divided between vocal and instrumental performances
 
The Beginner Vocal was won by Olufunmi Esan singing Poco Poppa Pizza and Mama Piccolo
 
 
The Beginner Instrumental was won by Elzbieta Ribinskaite on piano playing Blues in the Attic
 
 
The Intermediate Vocal Performance went to Leann Lopez singing Hallelujah (here hindered not helped by Rotary Vice President Adrian Alsop)
 
 
and the Intermediate Instrumental Award went to Neda Bickus on piano performing Sonatina in A minor
 
 
and The Winner (with the spoils) in Senior Category Sean Corrigan
 
 
and a very happy President Elaine Stevens declaring the event to be a huge success building on the success of last year and  closing the proceedings
